Calorimeter

Source of error:
  1. heat capacity of the calorimeter being ignored
  2. heat loss due to conduction, convection and radiation
  3. thermometer not precise enough
  4. specific heat of the solution is assumed to be water but in fact is not
Improvement:
  1. determine the geat capacity of the calorimeter and take it into account during calculation
  2. provide lagging and lid to the calorimeter, or replace it by a vacuum flask calorimeter
  3. for higher accuracy in reading temperature, use a Beckmann thermometer
  4. determine the water equivalent of the solution
